How To: Stock a Healthy Pantry

How is your pantry looking? A bit empty? Or on the flip side, is it so full that every time you open the door something comes falling off the shelf? What about the quality of your ingredients? Is your pantry looking more like a chemist, full of preservatives and additives? Well it’s time to do a ‘Pantry Spring Clean’ to re-stock it with all the staples you need to ensure that your pantry is full of wholesome ingredients to help you stay on track to eat well everyday!

 

Every 12 months we make the effort clear out our entire pantry, top to bottom. We start by removing all the items we have currently stored in our pantry, check expiry dates and bin any items necessary. As a general rule, if we have anything in our pantry that is close to finished, we bin it. We only want the best for our bodies! Then using our handy checklist we create an inventory of all the items we currently have and create a shopping list of all the missing bits and pieces. Once all purchased we convert into handy jars (of course!) and containers to ensure maximum freshness.
